Hi all, I had my annual ultrasound this morning. After 11 years, you'd think I'd feel more comfortable with the process. The people are always friendly and encouraging, but the 5 - 10 minutes waiting for the tech to return after the initial reading seems to take forever. Thankfully, the reading went well, and I can breathe easily for another year. 😊 What helped me get through the waiting period? Nice music on my phone, some deep breathing, and positive thoughts. Let me know if I can support you through this process!

I stopped drinking entirely about two years ago after cutting back over about six months. I don't miss alcohol and I feel much better without it, but sometimes I do feel left out when everyone else is drinking. I think I have just as much fun as people who are drinking, but it does set me apart. For a little while I played along by ordering fancy non-alcoholic cocktails when we would go out, but I've stopped. They are practically as expensive as alcoholic drinks and they don't taste that great. I feel better and I look better since stopping alc...

I was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma stage 2 in September 2022. I had my mastectomy at KU Indian Creek in Overland Park. I had me Chemo at Advent Health. I opted to do my chemo at Advent Health since they offered cold capping. I had my Radiation at KU main campus. I had a hysterectomy and reconstruction surgery at KU main campus.

I found out about my mom's diagnosis when I was working at summer camp right before I left for college. I knew my mom was about to go through a battle that was both physically and emotionally grueling, but none of it happened in my world. Hello everyone, I am 38 years old out of Prairie Village, I was diagnosed at 24 years old after having my lump for 7 years. Was always told it was a calcium build up and it was nothing to worry about. As the one year anniversary of my wife’s breast cancer is here it is important to reflect on how far we’ve come. Let your spouse take the lead if they want to recognize this milestone or not. The diagnosis of breast cancer can be a wedge in a relationship or can bring couples together. I am happy that this diagnosis brought us closer together and think it is critically important to be supportive and present for your spouse.
