I was diagnosed with Stage 2b Invasive Ductal Carcinoma that was estrogen positive, progesterone positive and HER2 positive in January 2020. I received 6 chemo treatments initially and after a double mastectomy and 30 days of radiation (because it was found in 3 of my lymph nodes), I had 14 more treatments of Kadcyla to treat the HER2+. Kadcyla was recently approved by the FDA at that time and was Herceptin alongside a smaller dose of chemotherapy. Are you having any side effects to Arimidex? My doctor has suggested I switch to it from Tamoxifen since I’m.now post menopausal. Thanks!

I was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma stage 2 in September 2022. I had my mastectomy at KU Indian Creek in Overland Park. I had me Chemo at Advent Health. I opted to do my chemo at Advent Health since they offered cold capping. I had my Radiation at KU main campus. I had a hysterectomy and reconstruction surgery at KU main campus.

I found out about my mom's diagnosis when I was working at summer camp right before I left for college. I knew my mom was about to go through a battle that was both physically and emotionally grueling, but none of it happened in my world. Hello everyone, I am 38 years old out of Prairie Village, I was diagnosed at 24 years old after having my lump for 7 years. Was always told it was a calcium build up and it was nothing to worry about. I started the malebreastcancerhappens.org organization to help men not feel alone like I was when you hear the words, "You have breast cancer." As the one year anniversary of my wife’s breast cancer is here it is important to reflect on how far we’ve come. Let your spouse take the lead if they want to recognize this milestone or not. The diagnosis of breast cancer can be a wedge in a relationship or can bring couples together. I am happy that this diagnosis brought us closer together and think it is critically important to be supportive and present for your spouse. When my mom got diagnosed with breast cancer it was the hardest thing for me to hear. The woman I look up to, my best friend, my hero, my mom, and hearing that she was sick was heart shattering. The C word, cancer, is a scary word because you always think of the worse case scenario, not knowing what the future will look like. When I was diagnosed, I felt the world around me crashing. No one in my family had ever been diagnosed with cancer. I didn't hear this being talked about in my community, so how was I "the unlucky one"? I knew of only 1 other Latina who had breast cancer. The morning of August 18th 2022 I felt a lump on my right breast. I immediately went to my OBYN's office to get it checked. They thought it was a cyst but to put my mind at ease sent me to get a mammogram and an ultrasound. At the ultrasound the Radiologist came in and told me he sees a mass and I would need a biopsy.
