ABOUT THIS VIDEO:

Are you making decisions about your cancer treatment? While having options can be a good thing, making decisions with limited time, limited experience and limited information can be very stressful. Maybe you have been given the choice between a lumpectomy and mastectomy and don’t know which one to choose. Maybe you’ve decided to have a mastectomy but now have to decide whether you will also remove a healthy breast, whether you will save your nipples, or whether you will reconstruct, and if so, how?

These are just a few examples of the kinds of decisions you might need to make. This meditation may be able to help you be more comfortable during the process.

ABOUT Aimee

Aimee Bernstein is a local KC artist and fitness instructor with over 15 years of experience helping people move their bodies in ways that build strength, resilience, and balance. While movement has always been at the heart of her work, her journey took a profound turn in 2018 when she faced a difficult time that left her feeling ungrounded. It was then that she discovered meditation—not just as a practice, but as a lifeline. What started as a few moments of stillness soon became a powerful tool for calming her mind, easing tension, and creating a sense of wholeness.

Now, guided visualization meditation has become her passion—a way to help others find the same peace and clarity that transformed her own life. Like many, she has struggled with anxiety. Teaching meditation allows her to share the healing power of mindfulness with others.

Aimee believes that meditation isn’t just for those going through a tough time—it’s a practice that benefits everyone, whether you’re facing a challenge or simply trying to stay grounded in a busy world.

Aimee grew up in Overland Park and earned a degree in Healthcare Education and Exercise Physiology from KU. She currently teaches at the Jewish Community Center and the Blue Valley Recreation Center. She is especially passionate about supporting people through stressful and uncertain times. Whether helping a breast cancer survivor regain confidence in her body or simply offering a moment of peace in a chaotic day, Aimee is dedicated to lifting others up. Because in times of struggle, we need each other the most.
