  1. Your privacy is important to us. It is our policy to respect your privacy and comply with any applicable law and regulation regarding any personal data we may collect about you, including across our website, www.thebreastcancerclub.org.

For purposes of this policy, when we reference “personal data” we are using the term as defined by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), a European Union regulation on information privacy that is one of the strictest in the world and far exceeds the scope of privacy protections provided by United States federal laws as well as the state-level protections for residents of Missouri and Kansas, for whom this website is built.  GDPR defines “personal data” widely to include not just personally identifiable information but also non-personally identifiable data such as device ID, IP addresses, browser type and cookies.

Personally identifiable information is that which, alone or with other relevant data, can identify an individual.  Examples of this include one’s name, home address, date of birth, email address, telephone number, gender, race, religion, place of birth, and age range.  The only personally identifiable information that we actively collect about you is your email address, which you must submit in order to create an account. We reiterate that the site is viewable without an account, but if you wish to have full functionality, which includes such activities as posting, participating in the live chat, sending private messages, etc., you must create an account.
