PEER-TO-PEER SUPPORT
Peer-to-peer support is support offered by someone who has lived through a similar experience, rather than by a professional or clinician. Hearing from someone who has “been there” can help people feel less alone and offer perspective that only firsthand experience can provide.
At The Breast Cancer Club, we know support matters when navigating breast cancer. That’s why we proudly partner with Imerman Angels, a leading provider of one-on-one peer support for people impacted by cancer.
Since 2006, Imerman Angels has made free, personalized mentorship available to cancer patients, survivors, previvors, and caregivers. Tens of thousands of individuals worldwide have been paired with trained Mentor Angels—peers who have faced a similar diagnosis or experience—to receive comfort, connection and understanding.
Every match is made by a real person, not an algorithm. Trained staff consider more than 40 factors, including diagnosis, treatment experience, age and life stage, to pair each applicant with a Mentor Angel who truly understands. Most matches are completed within 1-5 business days.
This confidential service is free for breast cancer patients, survivors, previvors and caregivers at any stage. Support can last as long as needed—from a single conversation to an ongoing connection over several years. All Mentor Angels are carefully screened and trained, and Spanish-language services are available.
