After talking with my gynecologist I decided to begin using an Estradiol patch. In addition to the physical benefits (less dry everything! 😉), she told me she believes there may be preventative benefits with respect to some kinds of cancer. The only side effect I’ve experienced has been mild breast soreness.

How quickly did you see improvement in your symptoms?

I started noticing a difference in a couple of weeks and the change in terms of feeling less ‘dried out’ has been consistent over time.

If you don't mind my asking, have you had breast cancer or are you high risk?

Sorry, I should have led with that information. I haven’t had breast cancer but I’m considered high risk because of a family history of breast cancer and genetic markers (not BRCA) that put me at a higher risk for several cancers.
