Has anyone reading this had to switch from Tamoxifen (because they were pre-menopausal when diagnosed) to Arimidex (because they are post-menopausal 2 years later?).  If so, did you have any issues/side effects switching?  Would love to hear your experience as my doctor is recommending I switch.  Thanks!

Hi, yes I was on tamofen and switch to letrozole which is similar. It recommended for menapuasalWomen. I was on it for a year and had terrible bone aches and aches in my feet. It alsoMadeMy hair thinner and I felt was a harder drug.. there are complications with being on tamoxifen as a post menopausal women like uterine lining thickness - I have had to have some uterine biopsies- stressful. Standard of care is an AI but for me the pain and the hair loss was not worth it, it was a discussion and my oncologist felt for me it was a good decision to stay goBack to tamoxifen. I would definitely try it before making a decision. Women take tart cherry juice and Claritin to hopeWith the gone pain I am a member of a site for the side effects of these drugs .

Thanks for the feedback.  My doctor also said I can try it and switch back to Tamoxifen if needed.

Good to know. I've been on Tamoxifen for a year and grappling with side effects (weight gain, erratic periods, aches, etc.) but it's not awful just frustrating. I don't think there is a better alternative. Oh, and I'm not on the full does by personal choice. I'm on half the dose.
