Oncologist at KU in Overland Park

Hi - Our insurance is changing and I will no longer be able to go to St Luke's. I thought there was a post about a good oncologist with KU at the Overland Park location. I tried looking back at the prior post, but can't find it. Please let me know if you know of a good oncologist at KU in Overland Park. Thanks

I highly recommend Dr Ann O’Dea at KU Med. Dr. O’Dea and her team are very knowledgeable and care about their patients. They walked me through all the phases of diagnosis and treatment and now I’m 2 years post treatment and they followup with all aspects of my care. I just had another 6-month follow up yesterday and saw her NP. I will say that most of the time I can schedule my clinic appointments in Overland Park at the Indian Creek location but there are times I have had to schedule appointments at the Westwood location too based on availabi...

Dr Crane is amazing. He helped my mom. Kind, caring, and smart. Nurses are great too!

I also see Dr O'Dea at KU. She is very knowledgeable. She will tell you what she believes is best, but is also open to questions and will address your concerns. She is also understanding as she prescribes treatment to be cognizant of timing that works with the rest of your life, career, etc.

I did not need an oncologist, but KU set me up with my surgeon and plastic surgeon and I was very happy with both of them. If you need someone asap, they can tell you who has the next appointments available.

I have great respect for Dr. Sharma. Throughout chemo, I always felt I was in good hands. She specializes in breast cancer, is actively involved in research and is up to date on the very latest research results regarding optimizing outcomes. She is gentle and kind and spent time answering my numerous questions. I never felt that she was in a rush. When I had concerns or questions outside of our visits, she and her nurse practitioner were always quick to respond. I hope you don't need chemo, but if you do, I highly recommend her!

I LOVED my experience with Dr Pluard at St Luke’s. He is brilliant and well-respected worldwide. He has a pleasant and unhurried bedside manner and explained my diagnosis and options very clearly. I do think that he now mainly works with metastatic breast cancer - my diagnosis was seven years ago. However, the whole team there at St Luke’s is amazing, in my experience.

Dr. Joseph Stilwill

Dr. Joseph Stilwill at Menorah has a great bedside manner. He is easy to talk to, he's a good listener, and he never seems rushed. He's a soft-spoken guy, but don't be fooled: he is well-respected among his peers and is currently the president of the medical staff at Menorah.

Dr. O’Dea and her team were amazing during my treatment for HER2+ ER/PR+ breast cancer. She walked me through my treatment plan step by step. She was easy to talk to and always answered my questions and gave me options.
