Side effects of Letrozole
I am two years in remission from breast cancer, right side with mastectomy and breast reconstruction. No chemo or radiation was necessary. Am taking Letrozole (estrogen blocker) and will probably be on it for 7 to 10 years. Year one was okay. Year two have noticed changes in my skin and joints. The skin on my hands have red patches and are dry. Have to use a healing gel to keep them moisturized. My joints in hands and feet are more stiff. Has anyone had similar side effects? Thank you 🙏🏻
Hi Debi! I’m on a different estrogen blocker and definitely can be stiff if I am not getting enough movement. Sometimes when I stand up from a chair or get out of the car after a long ride I feel like I’ve aged 20 years! I feel better when I am doing a good job of getting regular exercise.
Has your oncologist ever mentioned trying you on a different drug? Mine told me that he could switch my drug if I had too many side effects.
@janedoe7 Hi! Thank you for responding! Like you mentioned, I do find it better when I move more. Just have to remember to take more breaks from working and move. My oncologist mentioned he could try another estrogen blocker, but after hearing of other possible side effects, I opted to stay with mine and find ways to deal with my skin issues and joints. Was just curious how many others out there with similar issues. Thank you and I hope you continue doing well 🥰
