Hi, I was diagnosed in 2013 with ductal carcinoma in situ. My testing and surgeries were all at KU in their main hospital. I had a wonderful experience there.

Found at routine mammogram

In late January 2022 I went for my routine mammogram at Menorah Medical Center. A week later I was called back for an ultrasound. Then I was called back for a biopsy another week later. On Feb 11, 2022 I got the dreaded call from my doctor that I had invasive ductal carcinoma. Two and a half weeks later I was having a chemo port surgically put in and a week later started 6 rounds of chemotherapy. What a whirlwind. My oncologist requested an MRI of the breasts after my initial diagnosis and discovered the tumor was much larger than the mammogr...

Stage 1 Invasive Lobular Carcinoma

Hi! I was diagnosed with Stage 1 invasive lobular carcinoma in 2023. I am unbelievably lucky to have caught it so early. This is a sneaky cancer that often has no signs or symptoms. It was found at a routine mammogram at Diagnostic Imaging Centers. I did a lumpectomy and radiation. I also did genetic testing to make sure I didn't have the CDH1 mutation, and I didn't. Best wishes to anyone else out there with invasive lobular carcinoma!

I was diagnosed in 2023 and it was a shock! I had a lump I could feel in my left breast but I always have cysts so I wasn’t worried. I got it checked out and it was a cyst. Then they told me they found a mass in my right breast (that I could not feel) and it was not a cyst. I knew right then that I had breast cancer. I had a biopsy and it was confirmed.
