I had to call my daughters (on FaceTime) while they were away at college and tell them the news of my breast cancer diagnosis.  It was the hardest phone call I had to make to anyone during this process.  They were very upset with the news but I told them to share it with their friends and family and utilize their support groups too.  When one person gets cancer, the whole family is part of the process.   I was open and honest with them and kept them informed during the entire journey.  They were so very supporting and loving throughout my entire journey.   For example, one of my daughters shaved her head when I lost my hair!  The other daughter came in town and surprised me for my last treatment visit.  Both girls have run in breast cancer fundraising races to raise money and awareness for the cause.  Both girls checked up on me every step of the way!!!  I am one lucky Mom!
