Chemo was life saving for me

I had 2 indications for chemo.  My thinking was "why wait for the cancer to spread"?  I signed right up for all of the recommended chemo knowing full well it would attack normal cells as well as the cancer cells, and have many potential side effects during and in the future.  I had a strong desire to remain on this earth, enjoy retirement with my husband, see my kids get married, know my grandkids, etc.  This was a no-brainer for me.  Had I been 90 at diagnosis or had severe medical issues such that I couldn't tolerate chemo,  I might not have opted for chemo.
