After I was diagnosed with breast cancer I wanted to find out if I had the BRCA gene. I have a daughter and wanted to know if I was passing on this gene. The results would also lead me to my surgery decision… positive for the gene I would get a mastectomy. Negative for the gene I would get a lumpectomy. PTL it was negative and I had a lumpectomy with reconstruction.
